MySQL has a ton of problems. I know it's one of the most popular databases out there in the non-Oracle world, but that doesn't mean it's any good. MyISAM is a joke. What kind of relational database doesn't have relations? InnoDB sucks too, I can't run it on naoto, it takes more than 128MB of ram to start, all of the ram the server has. This brings us to why the site has changed. It's now running on the far more efficient Postgres database, but Wordpress wouldn't work on Postgres, so I switched to another CMS called Drupal. Drupal has some more modern features too, so it's a good thing. |
